I started drawing in late November/early December 1998.
My first completed picture is "Fiddle", a pencil drawing.
As I've had no art training and have never really drawn before, I initially, made a lot of mistakes.
Fortunately, because I was using pencils, the mistakes were relatively easy to correct
and I learned as I went along.
I was given an artist's pen for Christmas and started doing
a few pen and ink sketches before attempting a "real" picture.
One of the problems of doing time-consuming work, is that it's hard
to always see the progress that one made the day before.
I thought it would help me if I kept a record of each stage the picture went through.
Thus, was born the idea for this web site.
Every few days, I will upload the current stage that my "work in progress" is at.
Hopefully, when it's finished, it won't be too bad.
I would like to thank the people whose suggestions helped me
speed up the loading time of the pictures.
They are much more manageable now, however, some of them still take some time, so please be patient.
I would love to hear any constructive criticism on how to improve what I'm doing,
so feel free to leave any comments or suggestions in the guestbook.
